I purchased this product a few months ago and LOVE IT. I have found there are no hot spots that cook the meet faster in certain places. It is small enough that I can carry it in and out of our Florida room for easy storage. The ignition switch works on the first click unlike other grills. I can fit 6 burgers on the grate, 8 if I squeeze them in and they are all done at the same time. It's perfect for a smaller family of 2 or 3 people. Very easy to assemble. I also like that I can purchase equipment at a later time to make it like a standard grill like the rolling cart.
I am writing this review after having had this grill for a year, so I feel like I can make a relatively sound recommendation. This grill is fantastic. It lights with the push of a button the first time, every single time. The heavy, cast iron grate gives you restaurant quality grill marks on all of your food, which helps to impart a great taste to everything. I have solved the problem of being constrained to use the small portable propane tanks. We now use a standard 20 gallon propane tank attached to an adapter hose which we bought at one of the major home improvement stores. We turn the gas on very, very slowly (we shoot on cranking it fully open over no less than a minute) before we press the red ignition button. Opening the propane tank slowly overrides the safety feature that prevents the gas from flowing at full force, and therefore preventing your grill from getting hot. This is a wonderful, wonderful grill. The only negative that I have noted is that the inside of the hood gets very dirty (as with all grills), but because it is a bone color instead of your standard black, every grease spatter shows.
If bulk production of grilled material isn't a primary concern then this little grill is perfect. That being said I was able to cook for a party of 15-20 with no problems. It cooks evenly and a broad enough temperatures for hot and fast or low and slow, whatever your style. Its greatest feature is one that is frequently overlooked; portability. In conjunction with the travel cart, it can go anywhere you go. I've traveled with mine, and nothing is more comforting than cooking on my own grill whenever and wherever I wish. Designed to fuel off of the small coleman style camp propane canisters, I sprung for the adapter hose and run it off my 20lb propane tank. Worked well at gramma's 100th birthday BBQ, with a gajillion extended relatives and strangers wanting free food. Great little grill. Efficient and excellent use of space. I doubt anyone will be disappointed in this purchase.
We had been fans of the cheap-throw-away grills from WalMart, but this year the one we bought was so flimsy and dangerous to use that we returned it to the store for a refund. The grill was warped and peeling after one use. So we tried the Weber Q100 as a different approach, and there is a 1000% difference. This is a rugged, stable, well-built grill that gets hot and cooks well. The grill itself is heavy, easy to clean, and there's nothing to peel off. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
